Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center
Comprising a theater and purpose-built music rehearsal rooms on the ground and first floors are the ideal places for the many ICS bands and choirs to prepare for performances.
Lu Kao Hwa Theater
The Lu Kao Hwa Theater forms the hub to a large number of activities and events at ICS. The drama classes showcase their talents on the deep, wide stage of the Lu Kao Hwa Theater, and the stage is large enough to hold a full orchestra. The stage floor is a dance floor with a wood finish. The theater is integral to the weekly student chapel experience for the elementary, middle school and high school. A loading bay door at the back of the stage provides easy and safe access to the stage for multiple, or large objects.

The stage is a traditional proscenium arch style theater, with a full curtain system. The auditorium is raked and has 505 plush seats in theater style seating, and includes seating for wheelchairs at the back of the auditorium.The acoustics of the theater were designed by internationally renowned acoustician Dr Law from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the resulting acoustics generate a very pleasant and intimate acoustic experience for the audience. The acoustics work very well for the wide variety of productions hosted by the theater that range from choral concerts, small ensemble concerts, orchestra concerts, and large concert bands, through to the contemporary worship style of the school chapels. The theater features a retractable acoustic ceiling that enables fine tuning of the acoustics for specific concerts.

The theater features a modern and professional sound, lighting, and multimedia system that cater for the wide variety of shows, chapels and events held in the theater. The sound system in the theater is a concert quality system that gives justice to the high caliber of the performances by the ICS students. The theater features traditional lighting fixtures with which students master the art of theater lighting. In addition, the theater is equipped with the power and signal infrastructure to cater for modern styles of lighting.
Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center Foyer
Located on the first floor leading into the Lu Kao Hwa Theater, the Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center foyer is a versatile large open space that provides a meeting and fellowship place for the many concerts, dramas and other events that the school community enjoys throughout the year.

The foyer connects the different parts of the Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center and the community rooms on the first floor. Access to the Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center foyer is either through the main entrance of the Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center located on the outside main staircase, or through the large curving staircase that connects the foyer to the ground floor and car park. The Lu Kao Hwa Fine and Performing Arts Center foyer has a long glass wall that overlooks the swimming pool, and provides a dramatic backdrop for visitors.
